Best AI Roleplay Sites for NSFW, Worldbuilding and AI Partners (2026)

Most "best AI roleplay" lists are written by one of the apps on the list, and it is usually at the top. This one is too, and I will say so where it matters. What I have tried to do differently is judge every platform on the three things people actually ask for together: adult content without a filter fighting you, worlds that hold together, and a partner who remembers you. Prices and features were checked in October 2026.

How I judged them

• Adult content. Allowed for adults, without a filter that breaks scenes halfway through or a separate token charge every time a story turns intimate.
• Worldbuilding. Can you build a setting with rules, places and several characters, and does the AI keep it straight over hundreds of messages?
• AI partners. A companion who remembers the relationship, has their own life between chats and feels like the same person next week.
• Friction. API keys, queues, adverts, coin systems and apps that vanish from the store all count against a platform, because they are what actually make people leave.

RolePlaya: best if you want all three without setup

This is the one I built, so weigh it accordingly. It is the only platform on this list that I would say covers all three needs properly, because that is exactly what it was built for after I left PolyBuzz.

Adult content. RolePlaya is adults only. Adult roleplay is allowed, the rules are published, and minors are banned as users and as characters. There are no adverts on any tier and no per-message token charge for chatting. Total Playa adds dedicated adult models.

Worldbuilding. This is where it pulls away from the companion apps. Worlds put several characters in one shared setting, and through Word Gets Around they hear secondhand about big moments you had with the others. Creators can add Character Triggers, hidden story beats that fire after a set number of messages or when a described moment happens, and Game Indicators that track stats such as Affection, Trust, Health or Gold. On paid tiers, scene and clothing memory tracks where everyone is, the time of day and what they are wearing or carrying. Franchise characters know their own canon, and present-day characters know your real day, time and season.

AI partners. Dream Partner is a private companion of your own. They keep a diary about your relationship every day, reach bond milestones at 7, 30, 90 and 365 days, and on paid tiers come with a wardrobe, poses, scenes, camera snapshots and a gallery. Enhanced Permanent Memory lets any character keep up to 150 memories you can read, edit or delete, and Timeline Link lets one character exist across up to 30 points in their life, each version aware of the earlier ones. Characters can speak too: there are more than 60 voices, and Total Playa reads replies aloud.

Price. Free gives 50 messages a day with no adverts. Bit of a Playa is $9.99 a month and removes the daily limit. Total Playa is $19.99 a month and adds unlimited conversation memory, adult models and voice. Day passes start at $1.99. No API key, no proxy, nothing to install.

Kindroid: best for one deeply customised companion

Kindroid is built around a single companion you shape in detail, with long-term memory, voice and video calls, selfies and group chats. If your whole interest is one partner, it is one of the strongest options. Plans start at about $13.99 a month on the web, with higher prices through the app stores and expensive Ultra and MAX add-ons for the largest memory. It requires age verification for adult content. Reviews disagree on how unfiltered the free tier really is, so test it before paying.

The gap is worldbuilding. There is a backstory and key memory system but nothing like a lorebook, so multi-character settings are not what it is for. The Android app was briefly unavailable on Google Play in April 2026 over a billing issue.

Nomi: best for companion memory

Nomi's reputation is memory and emotional continuity, with short, medium and long-term memory even on the free tier. Adult text roleplay is allowed, though explicit images are deliberately limited. Paid plans are about $15.99 a month or $99.99 a year and add group chats of up to 10, voice and more images. Like Kindroid it is a companion app first, so there is little in the way of worlds or story structure.

DreamGen: best for long-form story writing

DreamGen is closer to a co-writer than a chat app. It runs its own story models, supports multi-character scenarios built from building blocks, and offers up to 30,000 tokens of context on its top plan. Plans run from about $7.83 to $48.30 a month on a credit system, so heavy writers should check how far the credits go. It is excellent for writing a story with AI and weaker as a place to have a companion.

SpicyChat: best free uncensored library

SpicyChat has one of the biggest libraries of adult characters and a free tier that is genuinely usable, around 2,000 messages a day when signed in, though with short memory. It added lorebooks and group chats of up to 10 characters. Prices rose in September 2026 to about $5.95, $19.95 and $29.95 a month, and voice is only on the top tier. Janitor AI: best if you want to bring your own model

Janitor AI has a huge card library, lorebooks and scripts, and a free in-house model. The best results usually come from connecting your own API key and paying a model provider, or from Janitor+, its first-party subscription since June 2026 at around $12.99 a month. Adult content needs age verification in Australia, Brazil and the UK. Its 2026 changelog records a string of outages and attacks. SillyTavern with OpenRouter: best for total control

SillyTavern is a free, open-source front end that you run yourself and connect to a model, often through OpenRouter. Its World Info system, group chats, summaries and extensions make it the most powerful worldbuilding tool here. The price is your time: you install it, choose and pay for models, and fix it when it breaks. What it allows depends entirely on the model you connect. If that sounds like a hobby you would enjoy, nothing beats it. If you just want to roleplay tonight, it is a lot of work.

Candy AI: best for images and video

Candy AI is a visual-first AI girlfriend site with strong image consistency, voice calls and short videos. Adult content is premium only and many private images and videos cost tokens on top of the subscription, which is about $13.99 a month. Reviews consistently say conversation memory is weak and there is no worldbuilding. It is a picture and video product with chat attached.

Kissable: best for slow-burn romance

Kissable focuses on romance, with memory that it says never resets, voice messages, photos and short videos, and scenarios with up to six characters. It is 18+ and romantic rather than fully explicit, and Premium is about $19.99 a month with a separate currency for extras. Its Android app was removed from Google Play in August 2026. Worth knowing about the rest

CrushOn AI is unfiltered with plans from about $5.99 to $49.90 a month, but its free allowance is reported differently from source to source, and Mozilla flagged its privacy practices. Chub AI has a superb card library and lorebooks, but no persistent memory, a thin free tier and a paid plan of about $20 a month. Character.AI is the reference point the others are measured against, but it filters adult content on every tier, so it does not belong on a list like this. What to check before you pay anywhere

1. Is adult content really included, or charged per image? Several platforms allow NSFW text but meter everything visual with tokens.
2. How long is the memory on the tier you are buying? Free tiers with a few thousand tokens forget the scene within minutes.
3. Is it in the app store? SpicyChat, Kissable and Chub have all lost store apps. Web apps cannot be pulled from under you.
4. Is there an age check in your country? The UK, Australia, Brazil, France, Italy and several US states now require them on many platforms.
