RolePlaya Features: Everything the Platform Does

RolePlaya is an adults-only AI roleplay platform built for long-form, story-driven roleplay. This page lists everything it does, from memory and worldbuilding to companions, images, voices, games and creator tools. It all works in the browser, with no API key, no proxy and nothing to install.

Chat and storytelling

• Long-form roleplay with any character. Chat with thousands of public characters made by the community, or with your own.
• Your choice of storytelling style. The style is picked right in the message bar. Free includes an adult option and a safe-for-work option. Bit of a Playa adds three more and Total Playa adds four more, with longer replies and priority speed for subscribers.
• Continue. The character carries the scene on without you typing anything.
• Regenerate with direction. Ask for a reply again, or steer the rewrite with a quick choice such as Be nicer, Keep it shorter or Slow it down, or with your own note.
• Character Thoughts. See what the character is really thinking behind what they say.
• Fork From Here. Branch a story from any message into a new thread and keep the original intact.
• Out-of-character notes. Write in ((double brackets)) to fix a detail, skip time or change an outfit, and the character applies it without breaking the story.
• Story Tools. Ideas for what to say next, a plot twist, a time skip (later tonight, next morning, a week later) or the character's private diary entry about the scene, written on a dated journal page.
• Chat Mode. Shorter, text-message style replies, switched on per conversation.
• Live in-character typing. While the character writes, they show what they are doing in the scene instead of a plain typing indicator.
• Mood labels and Mood Faces. Each reply can show the character's mood, and popular characters change facial expression to match it.
• Replies in your language. Characters answer in your browser language from the first message, in more than 35 languages, and character intros can be auto-translated.
• Fix Perspective Drift and Dialogue Labels. Settings that keep each reply in one point of view and label who is speaking.

Memory and continuity

• Story memory. Characters keep hold of the story in long conversations: where it started, what has happened and what has been established between you. The depth grows with your plan, up to the whole conversation on Total Playa.
• Enhanced Permanent Memory. Characters remember you across every conversation, not just the current one. Up to 150 memories per character, sorted into facts, preferences, events and relationship moments, which you can see, add, edit, lock or delete. Included on every character with Total Playa, or unlocked on one character with Playa Points.
• Scene Memory. On paid tiers, characters keep track of where the scene is, the time of day, and who is present or has left.
• Clothing Memory. On paid tiers, characters remember what has been taken off, put on, torn, lost or handed over.
• Timeline Link. Connect up to 30 of your characters as the same person at different points in their life, so the older version remembers what happened with the younger one.
• Playa Reputation. An optional setting where big moments with one character spread as rumours that other characters may have heard, with a ledger to hide any rumour.
• Memory pause. Pause memory for a session without losing anything already saved.

Worldbuilding

• Worlds. Build a setting with its own name, description, lore and notes, then assign characters to it with roles and relationships. Subscribers create Worlds, and public Worlds can be browsed by everyone.
• Word Gets Around. Characters in the same World hear secondhand about the big moments you had with the others, such as a first kiss, a confession or a fight, and react the way a real person would.
• Character Triggers. Creators write up to 10 hidden story beats into a character, firing after a set number of messages or when a described moment happens, such as the first flirt. Lore, secrets and plot turns arrive at the right time, and the member never sees the instruction.
• Game Indicators. Creators add tracked stats such as Affection, Trust, Health, Gold or Sanity, shown under each reply and changing with the story.
• Canon-true franchise characters. Characters from well-known franchises know their own canon, while the creator's version always wins where it differs.
• Real-world time and Live Knowledge. Present-day characters know your real day, time, season and upcoming holidays, and can answer real-world questions accurately in their own voice.
• Character setups. One main character, an ensemble with a lead, or a pure ensemble cast in a single card.

Multi Playa: group scenes

• Two or three characters at once. Each replies with their own picture and reacts to the others, and you can address one of them directly. Open to every member.

Dream Partner

• A companion designed from scratch. Looks, voice, personality and deeper anchors: an endearing habit, what they do when falling for someone, a quiet want, a hidden layer and the way they love. Human or not, such as elf, demon or vampire.
• Private by design. A Dream Partner never appears in public listings, and greets you as a real first meeting.
• A daily diary. Each day they write a private diary entry about the relationship, drawn from real moments in your chats.
• A relationship that grows. A bond level rises with time together, with milestones at 7, 30, 90 and 365 days.
• Wardrobe, poses, scenes and gallery. Dress them, pose them, place them in scenes, take camera snapshots or short videos, and set any gallery image back as their current look.
• Up to three partners. One on Free, two on Bit of a Playa and three on Total Playa.

Images, video and voice

• Image Generator. 28 art styles, close-up to full-body framing, single or multiple subjects, and reference photos on Total Playa. Free images every day on every tier.
• In-chat camera. Capture the current moment of a story as an image or a short video, keeping the character's look.
• Scene backgrounds. On Total Playa, the chat background changes to match where the story is.
• Animated characters. Character pictures can be turned into short looping animations.
• Character Voices. 64 voices including 20 accents, with spoken replies, autoplay, whispers, voicemails, pillow talk and diary entries read aloud.
• RePlaya Comics. Turn chosen moments of a chat into a comic strip with your own lines and your Playa drawn in, in five art styles.
• Snapshots. Character image sets that creators publish and members can collect.

Characters and creation

• Free character creation for everyone. Avatar, intro, up to three greetings, background, side characters, dialogue examples and genre tags, public or private.
• Character card import. Imports PNG and JSON character cards in the V2 and V3 formats used by Janitor AI, Chub AI and SillyTavern.
• Private sharing. Share a private character with chosen members only.
• Character Voices and Signature Voice. Pick one of 64 voices for your character, or give one character a custom voice of its own.
• Creator Test Log. On your own characters, see which triggers fired and why, how the stats changed and what the scene looked like, then reset the test or report a problem in one tap.
• Folders and search. Organise your own characters into folders and search them instantly.

Personalisation

• Playas. Personas that define who you are in the story, with a name, look and description. Set a default, or use a different one with each character.
• A homepage that learns your taste. The character feed is ordered by what you like, dislike and chat with, and asks whether it was the picture, the story or both. It can be switched off, paused in place, or filtered to New and Discover.
• Block creators. Hide a creator whose characters are not for you.
• Display settings. Card animations, dark chat background, face pop-ups, font size and site language.

Games, collecting and rewards

• Daily rewards. A seven-day login streak that pays Playa Points.
• Prize Wheel. A free spin every day, with collectible cards and a growing jackpot.
• Collectible character cards. Gold, Platinum and Diamond cards with mint numbers, which can be duelled for and traded.
• The Vault. A subscriber collection earned automatically at milestones, with rare Wild Cards found while chatting, set rewards, weekly quests and a monthly leaderboard.
• Card Deck. Day passes for 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours or 7 days that can be kept, gifted or redeemed whenever you like, plus Boost Cards and commemorative cards.

Creators and community

• Weekly leaderboards. Top Creators and Rising Creators, with card prizes and free spotlight rights.
• Boosts and the Daily Spotlight. Put a character in the homepage Top 3, Top 6 or Top 12, with a live queue page showing who is up and who is waiting.
• Creator's Picks. Pin up to five characters to the top of your creator page.
• Creator levels and Verified Creator. More exposure as your characters grow.
• Affiliate programme. Earn commission on members you refer, taken as cash, Playa Points or subscription time.
• The Playa Portal. A social wall, announcements, direct messages, follows, creator subscriptions, comments and notifications.
• Challenges. Themed creator challenges, each with its own public World of entries.
• Suggestions box. Send ideas and bug reports straight from the site. Member requests get built.

Access, privacy and devices

• Adults only. Every member is 18 or over, and every character is 18 or over.
• No adverts. None on any tier, including free.
• Nothing to set up. No API key, proxy or separate model provider.
• Install as an app. Add RolePlaya to a phone home screen from the browser, or use the Android APK. It is deliberately not on the app stores, so app store policy does not set its content rules.
• Private by default. Your chats and memories are yours, and card payments show as ROLEPLAYA on bank statements.
• Cancel or pause online. Cancel any time and keep access to the end of the period, or pause a monthly plan for a month.

Does RolePlaya have lorebooks?

RolePlaya covers what a lorebook does without any setup. Worlds hold shared lore and several characters, Character Triggers bring in secrets and plot turns at the right moment, Game Indicators track stats, and franchise characters know their own canon. Unlike SillyTavern, nothing needs installing, configuring or connecting to a model.

Do RolePlaya characters remember you?

Yes. Characters keep hold of the story in long conversations, and Enhanced Permanent Memory lets a character remember you across every conversation, with up to 150 memories you can see and edit. Dream Partners also write a daily diary drawn from real moments in your chats.

Can I chat with more than one character at once?

Yes. Multi Playa puts two or three characters in one scene, open to every member, and Worlds let characters in the same setting hear about each other.
